Lusoto aRts foUndation (LAF) is a non-government organisation empowering children and youth in Uganda through arts, talent development, and community programs — all completely free.
LAF is an independent, non-government entertainment organisation established by a group of like-minded youths with talents across different sectors of entertainment. We promote the capacity of youth and children involved in the arts to enrich their talents and transform their futures.
Based in Kawoomya Village, Mukono District, LAF reaches out to poor and marginalised communities — working in youth development, child care, capacity building, health, education, and research.
Reaching out to poor families is the very reason LAF was founded.
"Maloboozi gegaali silent — the voices of our children will never be silenced."
— Lusoto aRts foUndationTo provide children with professional skills, promote talent, and create learning opportunities for poor and excluded generations — giving them the chance to express their talents on big stages.
To make today's youth tomorrow's future leaders — promoting young generation talents, ensuring the legacy is sustained and observed, and giving talent the platform it deserves.
We contribute to young people's professional development through evidence-based, community-centred work across arts and social sectors.
Promote culture through local traditional dances, skits, poems, and drama.
Provide opportunities for performance and creativity for children and youth.
Encourage critical thinking, teamwork abilities, and a sense of responsibility.
Improve artistic, social, and intellectual outcomes for the broader community.
Everything we run is completely free for children and youth. LAF is also looking to partner with international organisations in talent search (US & UK), school competitions, and reproductive health in schools.
Vocal training, instruments, and live performance opportunities for young talent across Mukono.
Traditional dances, skits, poems, drama, and visual arts workshops that build confidence and expression.
Script writing, directing, video editing, and leadership skills passed from older to younger members.
Reaching the most vulnerable children in Kawoomya and wider Mukono District with free support.
School teaching programs for poor families and school competitions to promote academic excellence.
Reproductive health awareness in schools and wellbeing initiatives for youth in the community.
Beyond the arts, LAF works across several areas to serve the whole community.
